Our partner department, the North Devon Record Office, is run by the South West Heritage Trust who is running the booking system for visitors to the department.

December Opening Hours
We will be open 9th, 10th, 11th December and 16th, 17th, 18th December.

Our office will be closed to the public for Christmas from 21 December – 4 January.
November Lockdown – Notice of closure week beginning 2nd November
In line with the Government guidance we will be closing to the public this week (week beginning 2 November). We will be open Wednesday 4th November then closed until further notice.
If you have booked to visit us on Wednesday 4th November you are still welcome to do so. If, however, you would prefer to cancel your visit you can do so via your original booking in Eventbrite.
We will reopen when Government guidance makes that possible and will let you know on our website at northdevonathenaeum.org.uk

We’re pleased to announce will reopen to the public on Wednesday 5 August. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that reopening will be safe. Access will be by appointment only and further information about booking will be available here on Tuesday 28 July. Please don’t contact us before this date as we will only be able to process bookings from 28 July onwards.
18 March – Closure
At this very concerning time the health and wellbeing of visitors, staff and volunteers is of paramount importance to the North Devon Athenaeum.
For that reason the Athenaeum has decided to close to the public from 5.00 pm on Wednesday 18 March.
We don’t yet know when we’ll reopen, but look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we can.
